My name is Ana Lucia, and my journey as an educator began long before I ever stepped into a classroom.

I was born and raised in Uruguay, where my love for teaching first started to take shape. But the real spark came from my godson. One day, after I helped our cousin with an assignment, he looked at me and said, “Hey, you’re good at this.” That small moment changed everything for me. It was the nudge I didn’t know I needed, and from then on, the path felt clear—teaching was where my heart belonged.

Months later, I found myself working at a school in Fort Lauderdale that focused deeply on social-emotional learning and conscious discipline. That experience shaped the educator I am today. I learned how powerful it is to teach with empathy, intention, and connection, and how every child deserves a space where they feel seen, heard, and supported.

My stories are an extension of that belief. Through my writing, I hope to help children explore who they are, understand their feelings, and trust the light they carry inside. These stories are my way of giving back—to the little ones I teach, to the child I once was, and to every heart that needs a reminder that they matter and that their journey is uniquely beautiful.

Mi nombre es Ana Lucia, y mi camino como educadora comenzó mucho antes de entrar a un salón de clase.

Nací y crecí en Uruguay, donde mi amor por la enseñanza empezó a tomar forma. Pero la verdadera chispa vino de mi ahijado. Un día, después de ayudar a nuestro primo con una asignatura, me miró y me dijo: “Lu, sos buena en esto.” Ese pequeño momento lo cambió todo para mí. Fue el empujoncito que no sabía que necesitaba, y desde entonces supe que la enseñanza era donde realmente pertenecía.

Meses más tarde, trabajé en una escuela en Fort Lauderdale enfocada profundamente en el aprendizaje socioemocional y la disciplina consciente. Esa experiencia definió a la educadora que soy hoy. Aprendí el poder de enseñar con empatía, intención y conexión, y la importancia de ofrecerles a los niños un espacio donde se sientan vistos, escuchados y acompañados.

Mis historias son una extensión de esa filosofía. A través de mis cuentos, quiero ayudar a los niños a explorar quiénes son, comprender sus emociones y confiar en la luz que llevan dentro. Estas historias son mi manera de dar algo de vuelta—a los pequeños a quienes enseño, a la niña que fui alguna vez, y a todos los corazones que necesitan recordar que son importantes y que su camino es único y hermoso.
